Matilda

MATILDA

Matilda did not fare so well. Matilda's rear axle and been broken and a rear wheel destroyed. The diff is cracked. The crank case is sheared at the mount. The chassis is bent at the rear. The steering wheel is sheered and the column is bent. The interior is destroyed and the bodywork is a complete mess. There is no windscreen or windscreen frame. Everything forward of the engine block looks good.

Gerry Freed has picked up Matilda and all of Tom and Lois's personal belongings. He will return to his workshop with her to assess the situation. Work on the vehicle is awaiting Tom's instructions and Insurance release.

Local Citroen Clubs are investigating the possibility of getting a crew together to restore the car.

Tom has now authorised the release of the Matilda post accident photographs.

Most parts have been sent to NSW and with help from the local crew the vehicle is nearing readiness to travel.
